I'm working on a series of posts on bike commuting tips for my blog placidathlete.com.

I posted yesterday some options for dealing with a lack of a shower at one's work place, including making the suggestion of washing hair in the sink in the bathroom down the hall. One of my readers pointed out that the washing of hair in the sink upon arrival at work is not a feasible option for those with long hair. She added that "No woman who is vain about her hair is going to wear a ponytail every day either."

I need some help here. I haven't had long hair for almost 3 decades, so I don't know what's a feasible suggestion. (I don't think "cut your hair" or "quit being so vain" will go over well.)

I'm also not sure how much of a problem this really is, if you assume maybe a 30-45 min bike ride in the morning (when presumably it isn't all that hot so you don't get all that sweaty).

Are any of you bike commuters with long hair, and if so, what do you do? Let me know your thoughts!

I had long hair and found it not compatible with being a triathlete. I'm sure plenty of people can do it, but I couldn't.

I broke in here and feel like I'm trespassing in an old house I used to live in. Kind of creepy and cool at the same time. All of our old memories live here!
