Brett... those shots are outstanding! The look on your face the whole way through just cracks me UP! It's almost like you couldn't believe that it was happening... that it was really you. Like you were outside of your body watching it perform at a level you'd never experienced and were just giddy about it! "Holy CRAP! Look at me go! I'm the MAN!" Totally awesome. Personally... I think it has more to do with endorphins and the consistently great training that you've been linking together... but what do I know... I've never tried HJ. |

so let me get this straight. I make a post a few days back provocatively questioning the integrety of an American sporting icon (LA) and it gets a measly 2 replys and quickly disappears of the front page. A discussion about a hyped sports supplement gets almost a 100 replys? What has happened to this forum?
Dave,
Unfortunately, the Armstrong issue is, frankly, very old news, most people have made up their minds one way or another on him and aren't going to be swayed barring a MAJOR revelation. Hornet Juice, while small news outside the forum, is still fairly controversial, with many people not having developed a firm opinion about it yet.

We were in a dead sprint for over a mile. Look at his face and look at mine. He's twisted in effort and I'm "WOOOOHOOO"-ing in absolute amazement at the energy I've still got left. I sat on his tail for that long and then took him at the line. The crazy thing was that I was running way beyond my limits the whole time. No matter how fast he went, he couldn't drop me. And look at our body types! Who should be dropping who? I'm a gorilla compared to that dude.
I was barely sore the next few days. Amazing stuff!
Brett-
I'm sure this had everything to do with the HJ, and nothing do do with the fact that you're training for an Ironman and getting professional coaching. Perhaps he just wasn't as fast as you, or was at the end of his limits, while you are training to go much longer distances...I would hope that you still has gas left in the tank at the end of a sprint tri.

I know! Why isn't jetsack altering those photos instead of going out and interviewing for jobs? He needs to get his priorities straight.
On the fitness side, I was NOT primed for that race. I had gone out the day before and done some hard workouts. It's my coach's strategy to prepare us for IM. If you race shorter races really tired, you're mentally prepared for IM.
There really was something magic in the water that day.

"YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!"
See, what we have here is photographic evidence of the problems with HJ. Note the crazed look in the eyes, the arms spasticly flailing in an attempt to emulate the hornet itself. Indeed, this individual looks about ready to explode...like that dude in the movie "Scanners".....
Now below we have a triathlete HJ free. You decide.

Y'know, I have to agree with Bryan. First photos... no polarized sunglasses, no visor/hat. Obviously not a REAL triathlete.
The gentleman finishing IMAZ is CLEARLY a real triathlete, note the polarized sunglasses and visor. Clearly a superior athlete.
